A picket fence love

As a teen, did you ever dream of a picket fence love? You know, the person you were going to share your life with? In a big house, with a front porch, the garden surrounded by white picket fences? Two children - a boy and a girl - and a golden retriever to make long walks with?

Most people must have had some kind of dream about their future, I guess. After all, whatever we do in life, determines our future in one way or another. Making choices in life is not easy. As a child, you are guided by your parents to make the right decisions. Then there comes a time in life when it's all up to you. You have to make up your mind on the profession you would like to make your own. You have to decide where you would like to live. Will you be able to live by yourself or do you prefer to stay at home until you find the right partner to share a household with? All choices have consequences. It's all about growing up and taking responsabilities, isn't it?

Our girls are getting older. They are making choices in life. We like to give them some freedom in the choices they make. We feel they are up to do that. Will we ever know whether they made the right choices or not? I don't think so, because there's no way to go back and do things a different way. What is the best choice? According to me, the best choice is that choice you can focus on 100%. A choice where you are no longer in doubt. A choice you have thought about at night, every night. Maybe you have made a list with pros and cons?
